Bertha Lee
... (She/Her) is a film and documentary professional and artist from the Greater TKaronto/Toronto Area. Bertha Lee is an early-career artist whose experience in production supports her ambition to create profound work that reflects on the odd and liminal experiences in contemporary Women’s life and culture. From performing durational and ambient acts in her first project, It’s been Filed, Bertha Lee is continuing on to work in the Arts and Media sector in pursuit of a growing portfolio as a media artist and creator.
Bertha Lee was a top 100 finalists for the Verity Bargate Award in 2017 for her play 'You Can't On These', about being Cantonese. Rest assured, not all her jokes are puns. She completed her MA in Dramatic Writing at Central Saint Martins, Drama Centre London. Presently, she works as a Production Manager, a Director and also as an artist. Bertha has served on the features programming committee for the Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival and has worked on several films that screened at the Toronto International Film Festival, and other festivals of the like. Most recently she branched into production managing documentary series and unscripted series broadcasted on major networks like TVO, Arte and more. Favourite book at the moment: Ways of Being by James Bridle.
